What are Press-fit Pins?<\/h2>\n

Press-fit Pins are inserted into a hole, where they make us of their elastic deformation to create restoring force, thus being able to build stable structures.<\/p>\n

This task has formerly been operated by solder, but thanks to Press-fit Pins it is possible to reduce the amount of solder usage, which further leads to a reduction of costs and environmental pollution.<\/p>\n

Comparison with Press-fit Pins made from wire<\/h2>\n

Next to press working, we also make use of our Cold Heading Technology, thus producing Press-fit Pins from wire.<\/p>\n

The big advantages of processing wire are the reduction of material loss and lower initial costs. The disadvantage compared to press working however is, that complex shapes are difficult to achieve.<\/p>\n

Press-worked Press-fit Pins on the other hand show very high flexibility when it comes to shaping, but also a tendency to higher initial costs.<\/p>\n

Thickness of Strip material<\/h2>\n

t=0.64mm\u30010.8mm (also others are possible)<\/p>\n

Material<\/h2>\n

We mainly suggest C5191 (Phosphor bronze), because its springiness largely increases the Pin\u2019s retention capabilities.<\/p>\n

Another material we handle is C7025 (Corson copper). Its electrical conductivity is higher than that of C5191, which is why C7025 became more popular in recent years.<\/p>\n

Plating & Surface treatment<\/h2>\n

Ni under-plating + Sn (Reflow) plating is most common, but we also handle different materials. Please tell us which plating you prefer.<\/p>\n

Carrier<\/h2>\n

Because Center Carriers make it possible to plate both ends of the terminal, they perfectly fit to insert molding products.<\/p>\n

One side Carriers on the other hand can be used with Gang Insertion, making it a good choice for Connector Press-fit assemblies.<\/p>\n
