id=\"05\" name=\"05\"><\/a>What is soft-gold plating?<\/h2>\n<p>Soft-gold plating is gold plating with high gold purity (must be 99.9% or higher)<br \/>\nIt shows low contact resistance and excellent wettability and adhesion to other materials (easiness of familiarity).<\/p>\n<p>Suitable for wire bonding and connection of semiconductor parts.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"page-top\" href=\"#\"><i class=\"blogicon-chevron-up\"><\/i>back to TOP<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h2_back\"><a id=\"06\" name=\"06\"><\/a>Soft-gold plating characteristics and wire bonding<\/h2>\n<p>For wire bonding gold, silver or aluminum wire with a diameter of 10 to several 100 \u03bcm is used. The goal of this method is to electrically connect electrodes of a semiconductor chip with conductors on a lead frame or substrate.<br \/>\nCompared to soldering, wire bonding requires high reliability in tiny areas.
